Srinagar, March 14: Hurriyat Conference (M) on Wednesday said that all efforts to muzzle the “genuine” and “sacred” struggle of Kashmir through military might and resorting to harassment and repression on people won’t succeed and instead the move is fraught with dangerous consequences for the region on which clouds of war between India and Pakistan are already hovering over.
In a statement issued, Hurriyat (M) spokesperson said that the war like situation on the borders in J&K is the outcome of the deteriorating situation in Kashmir and to end the decades of hostility between the two nuclear powers, India and Pakistan, the resolution of Kashmir issue as per the wishes and aspirations of people is highly inevitable.
He said that those at the helm in New Delhi are deliberately trying to hide and avoid the historic and political reality of the Kashmir dispute which is promoting further tension in the region.
Meanwhile, a Hurriyat (M) delegation comprising Mushtaq Ahmed Sofi, Advocate Yasir Dalal, Peer Ghulam Nabi, Farooq Ahmed Saudagar, and others visited the residence of Muhammad Eisa Fazili at Ahmadnagar, Srinagar and expressed solidarity with the family members on behalf of Hurriyat and its chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq who remains under house arrest.
