Srinagar, Apr 25: Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Molvi Umar Farooq and Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Independent Movement chairman Bilal Gani Lone on Thursday morning visited the residence of incarcerated JKLF Chairman Yasin Malik to show his solidarity with the family of the detained JKLF Chief.
Reports said Mirwaiz Molvi Umar Farooq and Bilal Gani Lone Thursday morning visited the Maisuma residence of JKLF Chairman Yasin Malik and inquired from them about the health condition of Malik now lodged in Tihar jail.
As already reported Yasin Malik was recently arrested by NIA and shifted to Delhi where a designated NIA Court remanded him to judicial custody for some more days.
Reports about his complications in health condition led to public outrage both within and outside Kashmir.
Restrictions in Old City tomorrow, classwork to remain suspended in schools, colleges in Kashmir
Srinagar, May 23: Authorities today said that class work in all schools and colleges in Kashmir will remain suspended tomorrow in view of the killing of militant commander Zakir Musa in Pulwama’s Dadsara.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that classwork in all schools and colleges will remained suspended in Kashmir.
The decision of the authorities follows in the wake of reported killing of militant commander Zakir Musa in an encounter with security forces in Dadsara Tral in Pulwama district Thursday evening.
SSP Srinagar Dr Haseeb Mughal told that restrictions will be put in place in Downtown area of Srinagar.
He said that reports of imposing curfew in Srinagar are baseless
Zakir Musa killed in Tral gunfight: Reports
Srinagar, May 23: Chief of Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind Zakir Musa has been killed in a gunfight in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday evening.
The officials in Kashmir are, however, yet to confirm the killing of Musa, the chief of Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind Hind, an affiliate of Al-Qaeda.
Sources said a gunfight erupted at Dadsara village in the Tral sub district after joint teams of forces launched a cordon and search operation after an input about presence of militants in a house.
“As the searches were carried, at around 7.15 pm militants opened fire which was retaliated triggering a gunfight. In the ensuing gunfight a militant was killed,” the sources said. They identified the slain militant as Zakir Musa.
Gunfight breaks out in Dadsara Tral
Srinagar, May 23 : Gunfight raged between security forces and militants in forests of Batipora area of Dadsara Tral in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
An official told KNO that on specific inputs about the presence of militants, a joint team of forces including 42 RR launched search operation in the area.
On intensifying search operation towards suspected spot, hiding militants fired upon forces triggered encounter, he said.
As per sources, two to three militants of Zakir Moosa lead group are believed to be trapped
