The Union government has decided to allow marriage functions during the two-week lockdown which will begin from May 4. But there’s a catch: you cannot invite more than 50 for the function. And you will have to ensure social distancing.

As per the new MHA guidelines, while the wedding ceremony can be held, the organisers or the hosts must ensure that there are only 50 guests at max and they maintain proper social distancing at all times.

However, this is possible only if your fiance is within the state, as the interstate travel continues to remain banned, except for permitted activities like transportation of essential goods.

The new orders will come into effect from May 4.
