JKPCC wants Faesal to play role in national politics

Srinagar, Jan 11: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) president, Ghulam Ahmad Mir on Monday said that keeping in view the stature of Dr Shah Faesal, he would like to see him playing his role at the national level.
Speaking to media persons here at party headquarters on the sidelines of a function, Mir said that it is upto Faesal, how he wants to contribute to the people.
“He is at liberty. Ours is a democratic country, freedom of religion has been guaranteed to us in the constitution. The view point he has been expressing over the national and state happenings has been welcomed by all secular minded people of the country,” he said.
To a question, he said that as a bureaucrat also he could have continued to be the role model of the youth.
“After he qualified IAS, youth of the valley showed great interest in the civil services. Every year 4-8 persons qualify the prestigious examination,” he said.
He said that “had he continued in the civil services, he would have rose to the rank of cabinet secretary.”
“We wanted him to see the chief secretary of the state. Time will tell, what course he will take. It is he, who has to take the call. We would not dictate him on this,” he said.
“We would continue to appreciate him, till he works for the accomplishment of what he has been saying. His intelligence should not go waste in pity things,” he said.
