J&K admin to issue SOP to facilitate movement of stranded students, labourers

‘Unregulated arrivals to be quarantined for 21 days’

Srinagar: J&K Government spokesperson, Rohit Kansal on Thursday said that government will issue detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to facilitate the organized movement of labourers and students from outside states.

“UT of J&K shortly issuing issuing detailed SoP to facilitate organised movement of labour, students. APPEAL :  Please do not move without prior consent of UTJK administration. ALL Unregulated arrivals to be quarantined for 21 days at Lakhanpur,” Kansal said.

This comes a day after, Ministry of Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued an order allowing movement of migrant workers, tourists, and students stranded at various places across the country amid Covid-19 lockdown.

The MHA, in the order, said that due to the nation-wide lockdown in-place to contain the spread of the coronavirus, many migrant workers, pilgrims, students, tourists and many other people are stranded at different places in the country.
