Damoh, April 11: Authorities in Damoh, Madhya Pradesh have sealed the cath lab of Mission Hospital following shocking revelations that a man posing as a British heart specialist allegedly performed unauthorized surgeries, resulting in at least seven deaths.
District Health Officer Vikrant Singh Chauhan confirmed that the cath lab was sealed on directives from the district administration. “All procedures, including angiographies and angioplasties linked to the deaths, were conducted in this lab. It has been sealed to preserve crucial evidence,” he said.
The accused, Narendra Vikramaditya Yadav, allegedly impersonated UK-based cardiologist Dr. N John Camm and carried out multiple heart surgeries at the hospital using forged documents. He has since been arrested by Madhya Pradesh police.
One of the victims’ relatives, Jitendra Singh Rajput, recalled how he brought his father to the hospital for chest pain. “They diagnosed a heart attack and suggested surgery. I said I couldn’t afford it, but they said the Ayushman card could be used,” he shared.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav assured swift and strict government action. “We are committed to taking immediate steps against such negligence. If similar incidents surface elsewhere, the health department will act without delay,” he said.
State Minister Prahlad Patel added that Mission Hospital had previously been involved in controversies.
