Srinagar, Aug 11: The Gujjar and Bakerwal Conference on Saturday staged protest against the arrest of Advocate Talib Hussain and demanded his immediate release. The protesters led by the General Secretary of Gujjar and Bakerwal Conference, Choudhary Muhammad Yaseen Poswal assembled at Pratap Park here and marched towards Srinagar’s Press enclave amid chanting slogans in favour of Advocate Talib. While talking to reporters on the occasion, Poswal said that Advocate Talib was arrested on ‘dubious charges’, saying that he was booked only because he was main campaigner of Kathua rape and murder case. He said that the Advocate Talib must be released at an earliest. “In case, Advocate Talib will not be released, we will launch a state wide agitation to press for our demands,” he said. Poswal said that the arrest of Advocate Talib was aimed to suppress those who are seeking justice to a minor Rassana girl who was brutally killed in January this year. The protesters also sought intervention of Governor N N Vohra regarding Advocate Talib’s immediate release from the custody. Meanwhile, after staging protest, the protesters dispersed off peacefully.
