Fraud Saiyaan: Bride files police complaint after groom fails to turn up for marriage

Police have booked a 28-year-old groom after he failed to turn up for a wedding in Pune.

Police acted after the bride complained.

Police have booked Akshay Pradeep Kotwadekar (28), Pradip Pandurang Kotwadekar (62), Aditya Pradip Kotwadekar (27), Vandana Pradeep Kotwadekar (56), resident of Moshi, Kiran Sutar (52) of Pimple Gurav.

The bride and her relatives were waiting for the arrival of the groom with his “Baraat” at the wedding venue. But they did not turn up. The bride immediately rushed to the police station and complained.

The complainant and the groom are both engineers. The marriage was fixed after the groom’s family visited the bride’s family and fixed the marriage. They also fixed the lists of demands for the marriage after the engagement ceremony. Her family complied with the list. The groom’s family has been making different demands from time to time.

 The marriage function was on to be held at Ramkrishna Hall. But the groom along with his family did not turn up at the wedding hall.

According to the complaint, the bride and her family were cheated on and humiliated by the groom’s family for not attending the wedding. Police sub-inspector Sheetal Giri is investigating the case.
