SRINAGAR, AUGUST 13: The 89th Guru Dakshta (Faculty Induction Programme), a month-long training course organised by the UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC), University of Kashmir (KU), concluded with a valedictory ceremony here on Monday.
The programme, held from July 9th to August 12th, 2024, aimed at integrating newly recruited faculty members into the academic environment of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Participants from various universities, colleges, NITs, IITs and agricultural universities from within and outside Jammu and Kashmir attended the programme.
In her address during the valedictory ceremony, KU Vice Chancellor, Prof Nilofer Khan, expressed her admiration for the dedication and engagement shown by the participants throughout the programme. Prof Khan also proposed collaborating with institutions like Jaipur National University to further enhance the skill set of KU students and faculty.
Vice Chancellor, Jaipur National University, Prof Roshan Lal Raina, who delivered two lectures during the programme, commended the participants for their exemplary dedication.
“The success of any programme is measured by its outcomes, and I have witnessed remarkable courage, conviction and confidence among the participants here. The University of Kashmir has played a significant role in shaping my academic journey, and I am sure that the skills imparted during this training will lead to substantial positive impacts in their respective institutions,” he said.
Director, Colleges, Higher Education Department, J&K, Dr Sheikh Ajaz Bashir, expressed his gratitude towards the University of Kashmir for involving the Higher Education Department in this crucial capacity-building exercise.
Director, MMTTC, KU, Prof Fayaz Ahmad, in his welcome address, acknowledged the contributions of all the dignitaries, course coordinators, resource persons and participants. Head, Department of Library and Information Science, Prof Sumeer Gul, presented a detailed report of the FIP highlighting its key takeaways. The event concluded with the distribution of certificates among the participants. Coordinator, MMTTC, Dr Faheem Syeed Masoodi, conducted the proceedings of the valedictory session while as, Coordinator, MMTTC, Dr Kartar Chand Sharma, proposed the formal vote of thanks.
