ECI’s decision on polls will be respected, says Jitendra Singh

Jammu, Mar 05: As the Election Commission of team headed by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sunil Arora is on two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh Tuesday said any decision by ECI regarding the conduct of polls will be respected.

“We will abide the decision that will be taken by ECI regarding conduct of polls in Jammu and Kashmir,” Dr Singh told reporters in Jammu today.

Talking to reporters in Jammu today, Dr Singh said BJP is ready for polls anytime. “We (BJP) are ready for polls at any time. But ECI team will come up with its decision and that will be respected,” he said.

About statement made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding continuation of strikes, Dr Jitendra Singh said such developments are not meant to be disclosed publicly. “PM Modi has spoken enough over it and there is no chance to add even a single in it.”
