Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra gearing up for the release of the upcoming film, ‘Mere Pyaare Prime Minister’ says h doesn’t make films to bring change but to tell stories.

Director Mehra interacted with media at the trailer launch of the film, ‘Mere Pyaare Prime Minister’ on Sunday in Mumbai.

The trailer shows a glimpse into the plot that also talks about the issues of Toilets in Metro city like Mumbai. When asked if, like ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ even this film could bring in some change in society he said, “I don’t think you make films to bring change, you do to tell stories, to express something. It’s not about bringing the change and once again, I would like to say is that it is not about toilets.

I am happy that there was a movie called ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ and people are picking up very unique subjects but this is a film where we need to feel for the women and to say that it is for their safety will be belittling it Our consciousness needs a shift as to how we look at women. And the film is something more than just slums, cities and toilets.”

The film’s main cast includes three kids and this the first time Rakesh Omprakash Mehra has worked with kids in his film.

When asked how did he manage to get work done from kids, he said. This is a misunderstanding, I didn’t get work done from them they got it done from me. I didn’t have to do anything once things got rolling I was out it. I didn’t have to tell them what to do or how to do it, only if someone was out of character I would just nudge them back in.”

The film also stars National award-winning actress Anjali Patil, Makarand Deshpande, Rasika Agashe, Sonia Albizuri, Atul Kulkarni and Nachiket Purnapatre.

Directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra ‘Mere Pyare Prime Minister’ is all set to release on 15th March, 2019.
