Srinagar, Nov24:“What happened to the mandate for constituting a popular Government in Jammu and Kashmir State, the other day, could easily be contested in the Supreme Court, provided PDP is ready to lodge a petition,” said former Union Minister Prof. Saifuddin Soz.
He said the people must recall that after imposing the President’s Rule in Arunachal Pradesh on 13 July 2016 and Utrakhand on Mar 27, 2016 invoking Article 356, Congress party went to the Supreme Court which nullified the hurriedly taken decisions of the Governors.
“Governor Satyapal Malik’s decision dissolving Assembly illegally and unconstitutionally can easily be challenged in Supreme Court of India.”
“It would be a win-win situation for the PDP, who should see reason to go to Supreme Court of India, very immediately.”
“I have a feeling that all Mainstream Parties in the state and the general run of India’s Civil Society will support the decision of the PDP.”
