Director Sericulture reviews enrolment of farmers on DAKSH Kissan Portal

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 02: Director Sericulture J&K, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat today chaired a review meeting at the Directorate of Sericulture, TulsiBagh, Srinagar for enrolment of Silkworm Rearers and Farmers on the DAKSH Kissan portal under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP).

During the meeting, Bhat underscored the importance of skill up-gradation among the Silkworm rearing community in order to improve the productivity of the cocoon production and sustainability of the Sericulture Sector in Jammu and Kashmir. He called for the timely enrolment of all eligible beneficiaries on the DAKSH Kissan portal in order extend benefits of various departmental schemes and support services to the beneficiaries.

An on-the-spot demonstration of the DAKSH Kissan portal was conducted during the session to allow participants to familiarize themselves with the features and functionalities of the portal. Bhat stressed the need for widespread awareness among the department’s officers and directed the Nodal Officer to create a comprehensive video recording of the portal demonstration. This video is intended to be a resource for all departmental officers, ensuring that they are well-informed and capable of guiding farmers in the enrolment process thereby facilitating the timely disposal of cases. The meeting concluded with a clear directive to expedite the enrolment process and equip farmers with the necessary skills to thrive in the evolving agricultural landscape.
