DHSK reviews Health Emergency Operation Centre establishment

SRINAGAR AUGUST 22: Director Health Services Kashmir (DHSK), Dr. Jehangir Bakshi, conducted a joint visit with senior officers from NHM J&K to PHC Chanapora and MMC Sanat Nagar on August 22, 2024. The aim of the visit was to review the status of the establishment of the Health Emergency Operation Centre (HEOC) as per the directions of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, at PHC Chanapora.

It is pertinent to mention that the Health Emergency Operation Centres (HEOCs) under the Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (ABHIM) are designed to provide robust responses to health emergencies. They play a critical role in coordinating and managing health crises, ensuring timely interventions, and improving overall emergency preparedness and response at both state and national levels.

The team also took stock of the status of the Oxygen Generation Plant (OGP) at PHC Chanapora. The visit focused on making both institutions functional after a thorough gap analysis. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Srinagar, along with his team, assured the DHSK and other divisional-level officers of the smooth functioning of the said institutions as per directions from higher authorities.

DHSK also interacted with patients and the public, assuring them that their demands would be addressed within a stipulated time.
