Srinagar, Apr 1: Amid the gloom, there is good news. The second batch of 221 persons quarantined at various administrative centers in Kashmir will go home on Wednesday. Additional Deputy Commissioner and In-charge Quarantine Centers, Srinagar, Syed Hanief Balkhi told The Kashmir Monitor, 221 persons including students and some locals will be released on Wednesday.
“As per the schedule, 56 persons in Hotel Silver Star, Nowgam, 22 in EDI Pampore, 48 in Civil Services Institute, Parraypora, 71 in Dishan Hotel, Shlateng and 24 in Hotel Adhan will be discharged from the quarantine on Wednesday,” he said.
Balkhi noted that the administration is successfully moving ahead with the process of discharging the quarantined people in a phased manner.
“We are releasing all those who have safely passed their incubation period of 14 days,” he said.
Balkhi pointed out that the administration has compiled the list of persons in a district-wise manner.
“We are also providing them transport to home. They will be ferried in our SRTC buses so that they face no inconvenience in reaching home,” he said.
As a precautionary measure, hundreds of travelers, including students, who arrived from other countries, primarily from Bangladesh, were admitted to quarantine centers.
Under the plan, the administration had requisitioned 65 well-equipped hotels and government accommodations as quarantine facilities.
