Mumbai: In a consolation solution for the I-League team owners, the All-India Football Federation and league broadcaster have agreed to live stream the games which are not being televised.

The matches will be streamed on Star India’s OTT platform Hotstar and JioTV. The AIFF will bear the production cost for the live streaming, national daily Times of India has reported. The Aizawl FC-Indian Arrows game on January 5 is the first game to be streamed live.

“We have arrived at this decision in consultation with Football Sports Development Limited. There will be commentary, highlights and replays for these games. Only five-six home games of Real Kashmir FC will be shown on Doordarshan Kashmir. We are still in dialogue with DD and we will probably get the feed for those matches too,” an AIFF official has reportedly told the paper.

The I-League owners had expressed their anguish and frustration after Star Sports had last month announced to broadcast only 30 of the remaining I-League matches. The move would mean that only 80 of the 110 I-League games would be televised live. During the last season 88 of the 90 matches were broadcast live.
