Srinagar, Dec 21: Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference (JKPCC), Sajad Gani Lone, on Friday said his party will fight elections on all the 87 Assembly seats.

Speaking to media here at a function organised to welcome former Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Zadibal, Abid Raza Ansari into his party, Sajad ruled out the possibility of any prepoll alliance.

“We are not going to enter into pre-poll alliance, neither  with any regional party nor with national party. We would fight the elections on our own,” Sajad, who was flanked by former MLA Pattan Abid Raza Ansari and Mayor Srinagar Junaid Azim Matoo, said.

Asked about the recent civilian killings in Pulwama, he said that killing of  seven civilians for three militants has no justification.

“One will definitely ask questions. I reiterate that security forces should call off the operation in case there is a chance of civilian killings,” he said.

About Assembly elections, Sajad said that they were ready.

“Elections should be conducted in February.”

Abid Raza Ansari, who left Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said he left the party as it was hijacked by some leaders.

“There was nobody to listen to us. I only asked them to fulfill the promises that I made to the people of my constituency. I was told that employment drive would be conducted in my constituency, loan of the artisans would be weaved off, nothing happened,” he said.

Ansari said that he has been associated  with JKPCC  for a longtime.

“It was my brother Iftikhar Ansari, Abdul Gani Lone, and Shamim Ahmad Shamim Lone, who laid the  foundation of JKPCC.”
