ASI 2022-23: NSSO holds self-compilation camp for filing returns

SRINAGAR: National Sample Survey Office (Field Operations Division), Regional Office Srinagar organized a self-compilation camp for filing of returns on Annual Survey of Industries (ASI) 2022-23 here on Tuesday.

National Sample Survey Office (Field Operations Division), Government of India under Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementations, conducts survey on Annual Survey of Industries. This Camp on self-Compilation was organized to sensitize the business units/associations about self-compilation of Statistical Return by the business entities.

A session of Self-Compilation of ASI 2022-23 return was organized, in which Senior Statistical Officers from NSSO-FOD RO Srinagar, SRO Baramulla and SRO Anantnag imparted the hands-on training to the representatives of various Industrial Units

Mohammad Shafi Dar, Senior Statistical Officer, NSSO-FOD, SRO Baramulla officially welcomed the participants in the programme on behalf of the Regional Office Srinagar. The Conference was inaugurated by Arif Iqbal Bhat, Incharge NSSO (FOD) Regional Office Srinagar. In his inaugural Speech a broad overview about the objectives/ scope/coverage on the Annual Survey of Industries was highlighted.

The self-compilation programme was inaugurated by Tariq Ahmad Tanga, Senior Statistical Officer NSSO FOD MOSPI, Regional Office Srinagar. In his inaugural address, Tariq Ahmad Tanga, highlighted the importance of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and importance of Annual Survey of Industries. He said that ASI provides the Statistical Information to assess and evaluate the changes in the growth, composition and strength of the organized manufacturing sector as a whole to the gross domestic product (GDP) of the country. In his address, he also stressed unit holders to compile the ASI return 2022-23 on the Ministry’s web portal on their own for which a live demo was illustrated on spot

The overall coordination, supervision and management was done by Tariq Ahmad Tanga. At last the vote of thanks was also presented by Tariq Ahmad Tanga, who appreciated the representatives of the industrial units/Establishments for accepting the invitation to attend this conference for Self-Compilation of the ASI return who in-turn thanked this office for making such a nice arrangement and requested to organize such camps in future too.
