TIRUPATI: A day after the conclusion of the intense Lok Sabha election campaign, Union Home Minister Amit Shah along with his wife Sonal Shah visited the Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, on Friday morning.
According to an official, the couple arrived at the temple around 8 am and spent approximately half an hour participating in various rituals.
During the VIP break darshan, Shah and his family had the opportunity to seek blessings from Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy in the sanctum sanctorum. The high priests welcomed him with traditional Vedic chants and guided him through the main entrance along with senior temple officials.
“The temple priests blessed Shah and also gifted him a diary, ayurvedic products, laddu (consecrated sweet), and other items,” the official said.
Before he visited Tirupati, Shah had offered prayers at the Kottai Bhairavar temple in Pudukkottai, Tamil Nadu, on Thursday. He was welcomed by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams executive officer AV Dharma Reddy upon his arrival at Vakula guest house on Thursday evening.
After spending the night in Tirumala, Shah proceeded to offer prayers to Lord Balaji on Friday morning. Depending on his schedule, he may also participate in the highly revered Abhishekam seva at the Tirumala temple before departing for Rajkot from Tirupati airport on Friday afternoon.
