Adapt people friendly attitude: IGP Pani to police personnel

Srinagar, Dec 24: Inspector general of police Kashmir Swayam Prakash Pani on Monday stressed for adopting people friendly attitude while discharging their duties so that police-public relations could get a fillip in the right direction.

The IGP said this during his visit to Ganderbal where he had an interaction with the officials and the personnel at Police Station Ganderbal.

The IGP was accompanied by deputy inspector general (CKR) V.K Birdi and SSP Ganderbal Khalil Poswal. Other officers of District Ganderbal were present on the occasion.

A police spokesperson said in a statement said, “He urged the officials to focus their energies on curbing crime and criminal activities in the area which will help police in creating a better relationship with the public,” the spokesman in a statement said.

“IGP Kashmir stressed that police should prioritize speedy disposal of the grievances put forth by the people visiting the Police Station in a professional manner,” said the statement. “The functioning of CCTNS project of the Police Station was also reviewed by IGP Kashmir,” said police spokesman in a statement.

“Pertinent to mention that Police Station Ganderbal is one among the several other police stations in Valley, which have started updating their work on the online platform,” the spokesman said.

“He also directed the officials to update Police Constabulary Notebook in every Police Station,” added the spokesman.

“Emphasizing on the importance of transparency in the functioning of police he stated that police should use modern technology for better transparency and accountability. Also, welfare measures initiated by the department for the Jawans were discussed,” said the spokesman.

Also, IGP Kashmir visited Police Station Kheer-Bhawani and DPL Ganderbal. At Police Station Kheer-Bhawani IGP Kashmir made a casual inspection and interacted briefly with the jawans posted at the Police Station.

“Separately IGP Kashmir also chaired a security review meeting with Army and CAPF Officials in the district in which the security considerations of the area were discussed,” said police spokesman in a statement.
