Jostling Jehlum

River Jehlum has turned into a sewer for Srinagar. Most drains empty into this water-body that flows through Kashmir. The water is polluted to the extent that people are not even ready to bath in it. Once used to drink and ablute, the water in Jhelum is full of slit and trash. Besides sewage, plastic pollution is also heavily impacting this prized water body.

Civil engineer sets up organic sanitary pad unit to promote safety alongside menstrual hygiene
Pained by this phenomenon, Aaqib, a 27-year-old youth decided to embark on a mission to manufacture organic and eco-friendly napkins to promote safety alongside the menstrual hygiene among women.
After a year of research, his efforts shaped into reality. He started his own sanitary napkin unit under the brand name ‘SEHA’ (An Arabic word for health) in April.

Construction of 500-bedded Children hospital in full swing

The state government has accorded sanction to conversion of 200 bedded maternity and 300 bedded pediatrics hospital at Bemina into a 500 bedded pediatric hospital. The 70-Cr project will improve the existing tertiary healthcare infrastructure. Once completed, the hospital will reduce patient rush at GB Pant.
