27,85,731 children vaccinated till date across J&K

Jammu, Nov 09: Under the Chairmanship of Principal Secretary, Health and Medical Education (H&ME), Atal Dulloo, a divisional level review meeting regarding Measles- Rubella Vaccination Campaign was held for Jammu Division here Friday at Gandhi Nagar Government Hospital Jammu.

The meeting was attended by Director, Health Services Jammu, Dr Samir Mattoo, Director, Family Welfare, Dr Arun Sharma, Assistant Director, Family Welfare, Jammu, State Immunization Officer, CMOs, Deputy CMOs, DIOs of all Districts of Jammu Division, BMOs of Rajouri and Doda districts beside SMO, WHO Jammu.

During the deliberations, the Principal Secretary was informed that a total of 37,72,960 children will be covered in the State out of which 27,85,731 children have been vaccinated till date, with 17,00,994 children covered in Kashmir Division and 10,84,737 in Jammu Division.

Dulloo asked the health authorities to build up awareness on a big scale in schools and outreach areas where stiff resistance has come up against the vaccination drive.

Principal Secretary was further informed that Kathua, Leh and Kargil districts have already achieved 100 % targets, while Budgam, Samba and Kulgam are on the verge of achieving their targets.

He instructed the health authorities of those districts which are far behind the target to gear to achieve the set targets by end of this month.

Director, Health Services also emphasized on the completion of MR Campaign in all the Districts of Jammu Division by the end of November 2018 as new initiatives are coming up.

Director, Family Welfare informed the meeting that a Special Immunization Drive, Mission Indradhanush is commencing on November 22, 2018 in the districts of Rajouri and Doda besides Vasectomy Fortnight is to be observed from November 21 to December 04, 2018 in the entire State.
